Other reviews weren't wrong when they said this is what Live-Action Anime/Manga adaptations should strive to be. The action is blood-pumping, the score is marvelous and the story is really well-made and doesn't feel truncated at all (considering it's apparently based on the first 11 episodes of the anime). The performances don't feel hammered in at all, and the seeming goofiness of the villain Kanryu only becomes more chilling the more he goes on.
It's not just a good, great even, anime/manga adaptation, it's an amazing film overall! More of this please.
