The Iron Giant 1999
What a directorial debut. Such a beautiful blend of cel animation & CGI that somehow tackles Cold War paranoia and militarism while still being just a really solid & fun kids film about friendship and empathy. Brad Bird is one of my favorite American filmmakers, I think.

Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins 2009
Underappreciated masterpiece.

This movie, on the other hand, was an emotional ride throughout. It blends the styles of Tarantino's writing, Nolan's directing and Deakins' cinematography, which results in a timeless classic that continues to influence cinema in so many ways.11/10.
