  Some cool shots and a few good moments; I feel like it touts itself as some insightful or thought provoking movie about masculinity but it fell pretty flat for me. No cogent message.

  I was prejudiced against this movie based upon its suspiciously wild success at the Oscars. It is actually very good though. The story arc unfolds in a fun way, and there’s a particularly well directed sequence that just gripped me. Felt Safdie-esque. Great acting, generally very good directing, I like!!! Vanya summed it up well to his Mother “we just had a lot of fun, why does it have to be a tragedy?”

  Simultaneously a shameful cash grab and a thoughtful, logical conclusion to the Joker storyline as it was left off in the first film. Now I HATE musicals, but I’ve adjusted my rating to account for it.
