what exists after death, how do we operate without time? do events that almost happen occur elsewhere, outside of time? can nothing TRULY new ever happen to us?
this is perfect. a beautiful, disorienting, dissection of time and death. no other movie i’ve seen has felt this dreamlike, they may be surreal or outlandish, but never like literally watching a dream.

In the Heat of the Night 1967
pretty good movie. through a modern lens it comes across as a very boomer lib way to depict how racism is bad etc, but i’m sure when it came out it felt much more progressive. ultimately the film doesn’t feel like it says a whole lot other than racism bad, and the crime/mystery narrative suffers because of how much time is spent on doing so. stylistically it’s pretty good and that does a lot to help it
