A great adaptation of the Groundhogs day premise - repeat a day over and over again - in the sci-fi action movie genre. Cruise and Blunt are excellent here. Propulsive plot and action. It pulls off the impressive feat of not overdoing the repeated scenes Cruise's character experiences; often by letting the audience fill-in-the blanks of what he has already tried.
Only negative is the climatic sequence: it occurs at night and is hard to see & follow as a result.
Probably the most relaxing movie I can think of. The quiet depiction of play-based childhood in nature is somehow both engaging and peaceful in an aspiration way.

This movie absolutely terrified me - that's not saying much; I'm scared easily. The idea of kids in danger was a hard premise to stomach, but the historical regard for this film finally made me take the plunge and watch. I am glad I did.

Suspenseful, scandalous, and expertly crafted. The details of the murder heist are thrilling, but the twists of personal relationships of these characters kept surprising me over and over. You are in a sense cheering for the bad guys to get away with it. Yet this story portrays the power of guilt in spoiling any ill-gotten victory.
I read this is perhaps the best definition of a film noir. It's also a masterpiece.
