This reminds me of why I "wish" to work in the film industry in terms of having a major say in creating these types of smart, colorful, and cohesive pieces of entertainment in terms of story, character development, and action that allows for the very best of escapism. It's apparent the team behind this beautiful animated film passionately describes with visual confidence a hero's journey that many of today's films lack including distinctive villains who all share their own purpose. Just watch it.

Disclaimer: I viewed this film in Regal's 4DX theater ($20 per ticket) and man was this a worthy experience to remember. If you want crap flying in your face while the seats shove you around during a car chase, this is what I consider a possible evolution of what the movie theater experience could be.

The film itself works as a noticeably long but solid crime thriller. Excellent fight scenes, though could have been more given the runtime, excellent visuals, sound, and performances add to a satisfying new Batman era.

It might be a clichéd feel good film, but my goodness the camaraderie among all the actors combined with a visually and emotionally engaging film wrapped around an excellently curated soundtrack.

First time viewing this film and man I wish I'd seen it sooner. If The Legend of Zelda would ever be a "good" film, this is the closest thing to it. Yes, there's some cheesy fantasy fare, especially in the beginning, but my goodness there's so much more depth to this epic and visually creative film. Buttery smooth animation, especially during the surprisingly gory action sequences, accent the deep themes and questions presented with a hero who tries to stop war and not take sides, something we don't see much in studio films anymore.
