    Wow.

If anything, 1917 is a gorgeous feat of cinema. The entire film is designed to look as if it is one single shot. Sometimes the transitions or cuts are fairly easy to spot, but at other times it seems almost impossible for there to have been any. Overall, the film looks and sounds tremendous, I'm envious of anybody that got to see this in a cinema setting.

The single-shot aesthetic definitely works well with the plot, focussing on two…

Another fantastic psychological thriller from Chan-wook Park. He has a knack for creating incredibly interesting characters within a tense, dark and enthralling setting.

I particularly enjoyed the performance of Min-Hee Kim here, although everybody featured was fantastic.

Some fantastic cinematography here, particularly in relation to the camera work and some of the editing that takes place. The entire film looks beautiful.

Incredibly explicit, and whilst not as dark, or quite as enthralling as Oldboy, this is still a fantastic piece of cinema.

Unbelievably dark, perfectly paced, and heart-wrenchingly depressing.

I am furious at myself for waiting so long to see this film. A fantastic work of art. Some sublime cinematography (that corridor one shot scene, wow). Brilliant performances from everyone in the movie, and a plot that twists and turns just as you think you've managed to figure out what is happening or is going to happen.

If you haven't seen this, then change that. Not for the faint of heart.
