. Something about that scene in Ushuaia. Are we to assume he killed himself, or if he comes to the recognition that love is lost so it’s time to move on? Very interpretative. The anger this couple feels is real, blanking eachother for ending up in a place they romanticized that isn’t living to the image they built up. Mood for Love is still my favorite, but this is close to topping that.
A cultural milestone in this country. We couldn’t have asked for something better.
It was great watching this in a theatre this time around. The worst part was having to hear people laugh at scenes that were meant to be beautiful though. Especially the last one. The story of Sade Abe is a story of true love taken to its extreme: a total disregard of society’s norms and one’s physical health. This is obviously shown by the two characters squalid living conditions.
