This film is almost accidentally good because Dredd (the character) is so unlikable, and the premise of the “judges” is primed for satire. But the filmmaker can’t get past the suburban second grader POV that “cops are the good guys” and that actually it would be good if they could just execute people on the spot.
They should make a movie about the self-sufficient economy of Peach Trees, revealing that they provided health care and other social benefits for residents while being a zero-carbon entity.
Tempted to watch the original just to find out if the source material was shit or if I can blame it on Jizzolatto.
