Heretic 2024
Hugh as a villain was an excellent casting choice. Great plot and argument that doesn’t seem to demonise religion but questions those in control and behind the pen, as well as those without morality. It gave me midnight mass energy in the respect it gives people in a religious group, and giving the final girl her faith in the end. Very powerful message. If you like philosophy you’ll love this film. Oh and another star for Lana Del Rey lore!

And here’s a fun Easter egg: that in the scene where Harker is told to say the first word that comes to mind when she sees the pictures, she says “father” when an upside down triangle pops up, which is what Longlegs leaves on the box of the doll in the barn.
