Rotoscoping will always be impressive and it's fascinating seeing the amount of effort that the film makers put into Fire And Ice. Plenty of the action scenes and such are great and they capture a lot of dynamism amongst the characters.
However, as nice as it looks, it doesn't really make up for the fairly paper thin plot and lack of real interaction between the characters. You get a few moments here and there but the majority of the film…
Feels like it was missing "something" in that they didn't really give over enough time to the lead character to develop him much after the initial opening. You get the sense that he's a dashing rogue loved by many but I would have loved for him to get a few more lines!
A solid enough sword and sorcery film with a cool three-bladed sword and a rather fun villain. The fight scene/escape through the castle is very fun and has plenty of quippy moments.
Feels like it "gets" this era of film and an enjoyable watch.
