Bo Burnham: Inside 2021
I think Inside is actually just genius; I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s most definitely a musical comedy special, like no Burnham’s other stuff or Dmitri Martin before him, but there’s no audience. In fact Burnham creates this feeling of isolation and sadness that we’re lead to presume is at least a semi-auto biographical depiction of his experience being locked down during the pandemic.
So it’s sadness, loneliness, self reflection, cynical observation but it’s also hilarious? Somehow? They say…
