I didn’t watch the first movie but I have watched a recap of it. I would like to watch the first movie to get the background of the politics but I’ll watch it and then happily watch part two again. It was sad but real. Confusing in the way you don’t know who to feel for but I think that’s a great element. It adds to the reality of the situation. I think it was really good!

The Boy and the Heron 2023
The movie had an outline similar to all Ghibli films. The other-worldly tone was prominent. I may have been tipsy when I watched it but I feel that the movie was slightly disorganized and confusing. There were many scenes and characters I feel didn’t contribute to the plot. Overall, no studio Ghibli film is bad, Miyazaki doesn’t miss and the heron freaked me out.
