anxiety-inducing, artistically filmed and talent-laden. this movie was great. Whiplash has been on my watchlist for quite some time now, so finally having watched it was a great experience.

“are you nervous?”
i love how this movie portrays early adolescence. anyone can find some aspect that they relate to in some capacity whether it be childhood crushes, wanting to fit in, internalized racism, or the experience of Asian Americans. tugged at my heartstrings and was beautifully concluded.

great performances by Winona Ryder, Angelina Jolie and Brittany Murphy. it’s candid and it’s wonderfully anxiety inducing at some parts, however i found the pacing a little drawn out in the first half. overall pretty good movie!!
