I’ve tried to watch this movie twice I feel like I’m missing something… but all my respect to Nicole Kidman for surviving a Tom Cruise marriage like that’s actually bananas.

Such an awesome movie BUT I found myself struggling to care about the protagonists at points. This left the middle of the movie feeling like a bit of a snoozfest (a couple people in the theater started snoring). I never felt BORED though. It’s a gorgeous, memorable film; it just never had me on the edge of my seat. It definitely was FREAKY and GROTESQUE. Also the performances were great, especially considering there was no cgi used in the body horror scenes.
