Pride & Prejudice 2005
This is a real “they don’t make em like this anymore” movie. All time cast at the perfect point in almost everyone’s career. A god tier score and some really excellent filmmaking, particularly for a mid 2000’s romance, which by the way still feels timeless. Obviously some of the great writing should be credited to Jane Austen but this movie captures what it’s like to be YEARNING as well as anything I’ve ever seen. Also the five shot scene where Darcy helps Liz into the carriage and he does that hand thing is just so much better than anything we get in movies nowadays
