Jake Gyllenhaal added an unscripted tic that added to the depth of his character. This, paired with some neck tats and an air of coolness rarely seen in such a dark thriller makes Prisoners a gripping watch—some might say it’s a perfect first movie to watch with that special someone you’re into. Hugh Jackman is also great.
Possibly the most Whalbergy Wahlberg movie of all time. It has it all: Dirty cops, good cops who have been framed, a guy from Southie with a strong moral code, a ton of exaggerated Boston accents, gratuitous use of the f word, 7 different shots of the Boston skyline, the bridge by TD Garden, and even a Dunkin Donuts plug. If you’re looking for a movie that will make you chuckle a handful of times with all of the above elements you’ve found the one. Oh and Post Malone is in it, which is weird.
