Queer 2024
This is the second Christmas season in a row that I've seen a gay film that absolutely emotionally eviscerated me because of my identification with its story. And I am ... not sad about that at all. This is a visually stunning film that – for me – tells the story of an older gay man searching for connection with another man, and being hindered by the ways in which his addictions warp reality. It's beautiful, comical, and stunningly heartbreaking.

A dark, gorgeous, brilliant new treatment of this timeless story that was visually breathtaking. Lily-Rose Depp's acting was paralyzingly good, the score was flawless, and, of course, Robert Eggers – this may be my favorite of his films to date. An impeccable way to spend Christmas Day 2024.

It's challenging for me to even attempt to articulate how profoundly this film touched me, a Gen X gay man who identified so acutely with many of the themes, relationships, and memories it invoked.
Every aspect of this film was flawless and moving, from Andrew Haigh's writing and directing, to Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch's sublime score, to the heartbreaking performances by Andrew Scott, Paul Mescal, Jamie Bell, and Claire Foy. I love this film so much that I've seen it six times…
