Overrated as shit.
The greatest thing the film does is make you believe the events of the film actually happened thanks to the editing together of the camcorder and film footage. Then again, it’s really not that hard to do. What the film had back in its heyday was novelty. Once you realize that the realism doesn’t really make anything too much scarier, it kinda gets boring.

As much as it is a macho, car goes vroom-vroom kind of film, it’s abound in wit and character. The cinematography is captivating and emotionally affecting.
Every performance is excellent, but, while this isn’t a performance note, I do wish Ken Miles’ wife’s character was fleshed out a little more.
