I was surprised, but not disappointed, by the quietness of the movie, compared to the high intensity, beat-driven feel of the trailer. I was also surprised by how much the audience in my theatre laughed (I laughed a little, but usually out of recognizing a bit of myself, and deeply human habits, in characters that are a bit deranged) and I was curious if they were laughing out of discomfort, or out of a place of only recognizing the absurdity…
