I want to like this movie more than I do. Idris Elba and Tidla Swinton have undeniable screen presence and even some decent chemistry, backed with a good script and visual effects, but the plot feels downright formulaic and a little predictable for a movie with such a cool hook and a strong opening. The final act especially feels like it does the rest of the movie a disservice, turning it into a half-hearted romcom with a limp and milquetoast ending.
also it'd be cooler if all of the relationships were gay
