Jackie Brown 1997
Pacing was a bit weird and DeNiro wasn’t used well in my opinion. But overall, an absolute blast of a movie. The homage to blaxploitation stuff was neat and it built to a really great last 30 min in classic Tarantino fashion. Also, amazing soundtrack and use of music over all. I was saving songs left and right.

The Brutalist 2024
I think I probably have a better view of this than a lot of people I’ve spoken to who seemed pretty negative on it. But I still think it was just fine.
My primary issue with it was that despite having 3.5 hours to build out the characters, everyone felt super one dimensional. Their “personalities” were all about essentially physical descriptions of them: he’s Jewish, he’s black, he’s a drug addict, he’s rich etc. Then when you reach the point…
