Similar to “Hunger,” this film depicts a perfectionistic and narcissistic head chef. This is highlighted in one scene. My first impression was that Fletcher and the head chef, Paul, were alike. Professionally, Fletcher is a conductor or maestro. His goal is perfect presentations and a winning performance each time. I loved this movie so much; it made me want to listen to jazz music like in Whiplash. Because of its superb color grading and plot, I’d rate it 10/10. Andrew dumped his girlfriend to impress Fletcher and improve his drumming skills. dang!!

At first, I found this movie dull, but then I noticed the two impressive men. I was completely engrossed in the film, missing nothing. This movie’s Fight Club-like twist will probably leave me in suspense for weeks. This movie is completely and utterly a masterpiece.
