One of the best directed James Bond movies I’ve seen, and feels much more like a classic Bond movie than the rest of the Daniel Craig ones (have yet to see Spectre). The action scenes were beautiful (the Shanghai sequences in particular) and easy to follow, which was a nice change after the headache-inducing Quantum of Solace. That said, it doesn’t match the effortless cool of Casino Royale and parts of it were a little too JJ Abrams / MCU-y for me (lots of fan service and winking at the audience). Still, this is exciting throughout and a top-tier Bond film.
Awesome movie. Works on several levels - as a collection of hilarious spinal tap-esque vignettes, as a cultural document of the late-80s LA hair metal scene, and as a proper sequel to part 1 in showing how the art punk scene of the early 80s turned into the shallow ultra-macho hedonism of the late 80s. The interview questions are often just as hilarious as the answers, and the movie is full of memorable moments and quotes. The music and performances…
