  This felt like 20 different forms of propaganda shoved together for the first half. First as vegan, then pro religion, then anti, etc etc. This movie made me so tired trying to figure out what I was meant to take away from it. I'm sick of movies where kids look back and regret holding reasonable resentment for the ways their parents raised them and hurt them. Only half the cast could act. Both too much and too little went on.

  If someone says they resonate with Alma, run. This shouldn't be hailed as a romantic, sensual film in the way that it is since we are told that he is gay from the very beginning and her pursuit of romance is inappropriate, and if he were straight she's far too young for him to pursue. This makes the rest of the movie confusing and uncomfortable. They're terrible together, and both abusive in different ways.
