  i haven't seen this since before i knew i was trans, it feels different now. maybe even more upsetting.

  the way this movie handles perspective and perception is one of the most chilling aspects. seeing through Clarice's eyes only to see everyone else staring back, tearing through her (and me). there's barely any scenes where this woman's environment isn't hostile to her.

  i think even ignoring Buffalo Bull entirely, the perception of femininity and the way it isolates Clarice feels…

  the concept of a 2013 period piece hurts me some, but this movie makes it work so so well.

  great satire, great tension, this may go overlooked but it's absolutely worth checking out.
