  this was goofy and entertaining and has a great cast but it just fell a bit short for me. there was no real wow element and sometimes satire is so on the nose it kind of loses its impact

  every portrayal of elvis is a vibrant and chaotic whirlwind, to have that contrasted with the slowness, gentleness and boredom of priscilla was perfect. we only recognise the passing of time through priscilla’s changing style and whilst she longs for elvis’ return, she becomes like a doll in a dollhouse with her style evolving and determined by Elvis’ brand. it’s only when she brings life into the world, has her freedom and begins to reconnect with everything that was taken from her so young that she is able live her own life and this was so beautifully documented through the visual changes.
