  best horror movie i’ve seen this year. loved the use of practical effects as well as the intentional artful camera angels/shots. in a world lacking in original content this was such a refreshing experience. i had a nightmare after!!! that never happens lol

  i only didn’t give this 5 stars because of two reasons. 
  1. it was so dark the whole time i felt like i could barely see anything which i’m sure is symbolic and was on purpose but it stifled my ability to focus
  2. it was such a hard watch which again isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it just has so many devastating elements 

  Between the ED, father daughter relationship, and the whole God against gays thing this movie had…

  it has the color grading and set dressing of a classic james wan film but was lacking in the acting performances. BUT if you look at it as an amalgamation of horror tropes it’s absolutely killing it. i’ll give it bonus points for SFX and the insane ending that i truly didn’t see coming even though now after having watched it i’m aware the title completely sums it up….
