The Blues Brothers 1980
James Brown’s sermon brought it from a 3.5 to a 4 but then Aretha Franklins Fried Chicken Freedom chorus raised it up a notch to the 4.5. I’m sure this movie was 10x more funny in 1980 but it holds up and is still pretty damn great. Knowing now that JB was just running around blowing down the entire filming makes the performance that much more hilarious and impressive. Not to mention the greatest apartment in movie history when my favorite line drops as a train is screeching past the apartment.
