Poor Things 2023
I would see this again for the set design alone! But on top of that, wow I loved these characters and enjoyed this movie way more than I expected to. I’m happy I caught it on the big screen!

Did she do it? I can’t say I’d blame her. Leave it to a man to force you to move to his hometown, take on a renovation project of his own volition and still blame you for his time management problems. That aside, Sandra Hüller’s performance is so compelling, the outfits people wear in French court are silly and what do they put in aspirin over there?! Loved it. Loved it even more the next day. Will definitely rewatch.

Ferrari 2023
Ferrari?! More like a sorrari excuse for a movie. The best part of this film was Penelope Cruz. Her acting was powerful and compelling. Big Body Driver was imposing but most of his lines fell flat, even his little cheeky one-liners here and there. What was this movie trying to say? Fast cars are really dangerous but who cares, they're cool? I wish this was a movie about Laura Ferrari and how she helped run the business. Also Shailene Woodley totally conveyed other woman warmth but her accent was rough. Her plum-picking outfit was very cute though. Would wear!

The Iron Claw 2023
I was in desperate need of a good cry and this movie did the trick. I kind of cheated and watched a documentary on the family ahead of time, so I wouldn’t be distracted by an ongoing sense of doom. Zac Efron better be nominated for an Oscar! He’s such a talented hunk and he was incredible in the final scene.
