Madame Bovary 1991
There were so many times this film should have ended but it just didnt. Honestly needed a drink after this film but giving it 3.5 stars because it holds true to the book: both are long, terrible, and seemingly endless. I like to think the terrible acting of the lead actress is just her holding true to Flaubert’s one dimensional Madame Bovary and his general failure to capture the female psyche.
