The Monkey 2025
At first I was disappointed in the reviews. Now I’m just disappointed in this film. Theo James did well but the writing was so rushed that I felt like I fell asleep and missed a part of the film. I have second hand embarrassment for Osgood Perkin. I really wanted to like it too.

The Neon Demon 2016
There is far too much going on in this film for it to be a 15. I haven’t watched a film that felt so dreamlike in its core for a while. Absolutely beautifully shot, yet viscerally appalling. You have to be in a certain kind of mood to watch this film so I understand the bad reviews.
I think this film helped to inspire Saltburn.

Eraserhead 1977
As much as the visuals were pretty out there for the time this film was made, I really appreciated Lynch’s use of sound. Completely unrelated but I’m now scared of getting the subway.
Genuinely feel grateful that I still have to be introduced to so many of Lynch’s nightmares.
