Kinda insane that this movie came out when it did. But it also feels like this was the only time this movie could have come out.
It’s immensely heartwarming, and Hoffman’s portrayal of Michael/Dorothy was fantastic. Yeah maybe there are bits that could age better and it shouldn’t take him being a woman to understand that he was a shitty man, but at the same time wow, more people should pull a Tootsie and explore their gender. Wendell & Wild 2022
The amount of care put into this movie is apparent even on the first watch. Absolutely lovely and I can see it becoming a heartwarming Halloween classic for people in the Coraline crowd. Some of the voice acting seemed a little off and there was some bits of heavy-handed exposition, but the overall story and message were great. Would recommend!

Elvis 2022
The front half was a dazzling display of color and theming and an insight into Elvis’ life as a child and young adult, perfect for my ADHD brain. After his mother died it felt like an entirely different movie and was a lot slower and bleaker. While I understand that thematically it made sense, it was still a bit of a slog to get through the last thirty minutes. That being said, I love a stylized biopic and I thought this one was pretty cool. Austin Butler did great. Tom Hanks was there.
