Always forgetting that Kurt Russell has got it like that
Really, REALLY rewarding to see Cher and Meryl work together, as Meryl is the true shapeshifter we all know she is and Cher, though an unreal talent, is always a different manifestation of Cher. Star quality in this is insane and I, in some ways, appreciated the quick stop at the end that emphasizes the complete mystery. But I think the intrigue continued and we lose some of that.

Wasn't sure if I was gonna still appreciate this since I think I saw this at 11 lol the same year my sister showed me Kill Bill to comfort me after my dog died
Still gutting, still quite beautiful. Gregg Araki's 90s-does-70s palette abandons its usual swagger, finding something more sickly sweet. I kinda thought I might find him too heavy-handed to approach the subject of child sexual abuse, but he is at his lightest here without losing the saturation.

Delicious. Troubling in its descent, as Steve finds himself losing his grip on heterosexuality (the horror!) as he becomes further embedded in the hypermasc, brutal, but also FUN world of leather, but I'll allow it.
