Sing Sing 2023
Such an intimate view of incarcerated men and the justice system and how we need to dismantle said system. Also just a beautiful portrayal of men and the courage of vulnerability, the importance of community and the arts, and how the emotional connections between individuals can save us. Lean on others! Replace anger with expressing your hurt. Despite the tragedies and heartbreaks it still managed to be hopeful yet bittersweet at the end.
All of the men who have been through the system and the rehabilitation theater program playing themselves were incredible. And also I miss theater and want to be in a play.
