uurmphgrmmnrph this gave me cinematic wood and also a boner. another somehow niche yet resonant film from 2AM’s already captivating and varied catalogue of all-hits-no-misses. A stellar performance from Dickinson here — his assertions of power are imposed from a centered, intuitive docility that had me so charmed and attentive I didn’t even realize I was watching on all fours. Another banger from Kidman, and Antonio Banderas, you are my dad now. this film really had something to say and it wasn’t just “good girl” although that did make me wet. I love mentorships and I love milk.

Adrien Brody is my favorite actor and now Brady Corbet is one of my favorite directors. Another rich and phenomenal performance from my king AB. This film was a marvelous (and understandably lengthy) beauty with brilliant directorial detail from aspect ratio variance to transportive soundtrack pieces to glorious views and punishing historical accuracy. My favorite part was that I knew some of the Hungarian from my time in Brutapest last year. Its ability to span decades of American post-war culture…
