there is no reason for this movie to exist other than an excuse for jennifer connelly to look hot for an hour and twenty minutes
two stars only bc the robbers are kinda campy

i just accidentally watched this trying to pirate queer. i enjoyed it i suppose. it was very beautiful but i was very confused for the first 20 minutes or so because i thought i was watching a different movie. feels un-rateable within my usual metric purely because of how low budget it is
Disgustingly hypocritical and pseudo-feminist (not to mention pseudo-intellectual). This is a male fantasy project that hides itself behind aesthetics and a female lead.
This film easily could've portrayed the same message without the director blatantly projecting his sexual fantasies onto the script, but alas, a man made it so idk what i expected.
Extremely disappointed about the amount of people who are calling this girlboss and feminist. Support films directed by women, not by a man feigning understanding of what it's like to navigate the world as a woman.
I honestly don't think I've been more disgusted by a movie. Yeah I understand it's satire or whatever but the majority of people I know that idolize this movie don't see it that way at all. It's a gross glamorized depiction of the capitalist male fantasy. The ending was a pathetic attempt to make the plot come full circle and negated any attempt of critique Scorsese claims he was trying to make.
