    I kind of agree with:
    Kat Hughes, THN
Two fantastically committed performances from Samatha Loxley and Neal Ward help to make Hosts an entertaining and occasionally creepy watch.

    Scott Weinberg, Thrillist
Delivers a decent handful of legitimately scary, shocking, and unsettling moments.

    Abbie Bernstein, Assignment X
For those who appreciate the art of it, the gore is plentiful and well-done.

    Tessa Smith, Mama's Geeky
It may not be the strongest story line, and there…

Reminded me a bit of Bloody Hell, but set at Christmas, and not as enjoyable.

    I kind of agree with:

    (Audience review)
An insidiously disturbing Christmas horror film with minimal comic relief, 'Mercy Christmas' is about the best Christmas horror film made. The insensitive depravity unleashed upon the victims for the better part of the film with the anticipated turnaround whereby the battered and brutalized captives fight back makes this film a holiday winner.

(My review of Chapter 1: boxd.it/jVdeZ)

    My opinion:
Initial impressions: I liked it. I don't think Ch. 2 was as scary as Ch. 1 but it felt more visceral, more brutal... a different kind of horror. Also, I've seen it twice and neither time did it feel like almost 3 hrs to me. There's a lot to process. More to come. MUCH more, probably.

    Critics Consensus:
It: Chapter Two proves bigger doesn't always mean scarier for horror sequels, but a…

    Booksmart

    ★★

    My opinion:
Apparently, I'm in the minority, but I thought this movie was just meh. Not really my brand of humor. I thought some parts were funny but most of those were revealed in the previews. The rest I found to be a bit over the top. Billie Lourd was my favorite thing about the movie.

    Critics Consensus:
Fast-paced, funny, and fresh, Booksmart does the seemingly impossible by adding a smart new spin to the coming-of-age comedy.
