this movie felt very opaque to me without knowing anything about the original text prior to my viewing. i understand its intelligence more since reading about it but even without resonating with it on an intellectual level, it was a gut wrenching watch. i too would’ve gone on an insane trip to take ayahuasca with a tall skinny white man in order to know what his feelings were. the depersonalization of yearning and loneliness and losing oneself is so apparent in every shot.
too bad i couldn’t understand it fully on the first watch and probably would feel too lazy to see it one more time.Translated from by -
