John Boyega stars in this sequel to a beloved sci-fi blockbuster. His character -- a former soldier -- meets a scavenger girl with whom he has a connection. After the tragic death of a beloved character from the original film, our scrappy cast discovers that, somehow (through cloning) an old enemy has returned. What follows is bigger versions of what came before, vague meditations on legacy, and an underwhelming ending in which our protagonist looks into the suns set and says "I'm Rey Skywalker."
