  Young Clive Owen is interesting as an introverted croupier with an unknown backstory that hints at something dark. Gets interesting a little past halfway when some intrigue fires up. Then the last 15 minutes blows the whole movie with the stupidest ending possible.

  Depressing movie that doesn’t really go anywhere. The one good quality is it makes you really feel the crushing weight of gambling addiction. Which is I suppose the point.

  William H Macy is perfect for the role. Alec Baldwin is tough to imagine as a mobster. Maria Bello was good. The Cooler is known for his bad luck but it changes to ridiculously good luck when he falls in love. Not sure what I’m supposed to do with this… are we still in a serious movie, or is it a spoof?
