A brilliant movie rooted in historical trauma, that goes deep on themes of making up for our mistakes, self-sacrifice, and choosing what we want to fight for.
It takes every beat and trope of the action blockbuster genre and nails them perfectly, while never losing its distinct own voice. Hollywood wishes it could produce anything like this.
The inclusion of the Kyushu J7W Shinden is the nerdy cherry on top.
