Nickel Boys 2024
Beautiful cinematography, amazing story, incredible ending! But even though I like the idea of the subjective POV as a resource for how they remember things, it didn’t work for me the entire time. It threw me out and didn’t let me connect with the characters or the story as much, same thing with the archive footage. I get it intellectually but emotionally it just made it more difficult for me to feel with the characters. I did hate the camera from behind in the present times I have to say...In any case it’s a really well done film and a very heart breaking story.
