    Unstoppable

    ★★★½

On one level, Unstoppable hits all the cliches one would expect from a sports biopic. Aspiring wrestler deals with high expectations, beating the top player of a rival school, dealing with one abusive step-father while caring for his siblings and hard-working mother. But it's oddly refreshing in a lot of ways. Anthony Robles is born without a leg and yet from the first scene it's clear he's a great wrestler despite that handicap. In fact, people all treat him quite…

    Nosferatu

    ★★★★½

If you've seen either the original Nosferatu or Werner Herzog's Nosferatu the Vampyre, then it's easy to see where this remake's story goes. And that is the only negative thing I can say about Robert Eggers' Nosferatu because this film is phenomenal. Godzilla vs. Kong

Godzilla vs. Kong is pure popcorn entertainment, in both highs and lows. It is exactly what it markets: two cinematic icons battling it out to see who's the true alpha, both metaphorically and narratively. Everything in between is just filler to get these two back in the ring.

As the conclusion to 'Phase 1' of Legendary Entertainment's Monsterverse, Godzilla vs. Kong recognizes that we're not here anymore for its human characters. They, like the 'Hollow Earth' theory, were mainly vehicles…

    Flow

    ★★★★★

If Hayao Miyazaki and Genndy Tartakovsky had a movie baby, it would look like Flow. Also if Flow were a video game, Team Ico or Thatgamecompany would probably be developing it.

Both of these comparisons are the highest of compliments.
