Stalker 1979
stalker is certainly a bear of a watch, with it’s long run time, no english, and slow, drawn out shots. it leaves the viewer with a whole lot of questions and very few answers, if any. i left the movie unsatisfied, but that is definitely the intention. i thought it was decently thought provoking, with a very positive main theme of “your life sucks, but don’t worry, because it can easily suck even more”. ultimately, i would say stalker is a movie that should be watched at least once, but don’t expect to be satisfied with it, and don’t expect many answers.

Mulholland Drive 2001
this was one of the craziest first watch experiences i’ve ever had. not once did i know where the story was going or what was to come, but the entire time i knew that i was watching something very meaningful and important. david lynch’s mind was truly one of the most creative ones ever. the way that mulholland drive is told is absolutely brilliant, no matter how confusing it may be. i genuinely feel like i can watch this movie 1000 times and each time i will unlock a new giant piece of the story that i didn’t realize before.
