Great snowball fight in the opening. Miss this era of sinseare high concept comedy. Keaton is great when he’s on screen at the start. Actually great kid performances, and the chemistry between Keaton and the mom is great. Without Keaton on screen, the tone suddenly becomes a bad physical comedy. Jim Henson’s studio makes great practical effects, occasionally made worse with badly rendered late 90s computer animation, but it’s still some of the coolest puppet work.
Don’t love it or hate it, but I do love that it exists and was never bored.
Despite the lack of Q, Texas Holdem lite*, and a somewhat plain opening song from Chris Cornell, this is one of the best Bond films, and one of the 2000s best action films. Takes the realism of modern spy action films (ie the Born franchise) to make the ballsiest, grittiest, and bloodiest Bond. Daniel Craig goes through hell, Mads Mikkelsen causes much of it, and Eva Green is the most honest and real Bond girl ever.
