  It looks great, just like all of Ridley's films... and that's all it has going for it.
  It has a similar vibe to the final act in Kingdom of Heaven, only it's even worse. The characterisation, or lack thereof, is all over the place, resulting in a non-existent plot that led to many "head-in-hands" moments. But I can't complain too much, it did make me laugh a fair bit, so I was at least relieved from the boredom at times.

  Watched it on Blu-ray for the first time, and I can safely that it does make a difference - especially when you watch those scenes captured on IMAX film!
  I thought I might not like it as much this time around, but it still holds up so well after all these years and rewatches. A morality tale with the skin of a crime thriller, something only Nolan can pull off.

  Blood Simple 1984

  The acting is fine, and there is suspense at times, especially at the end, but there was no near enough of it to be considered thrilling.
  I was so bored that it felt like it dragged on for ages, which is never good but is especially bad when it’s only 96 minutes long.
