Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story isn’t just a parody it’s a comedic masterpiece that shreds every music biopic cliché with absurd genius. John C. Reilly delivers the performance of a lifetime, backed by a soundtrack so good it almost makes you believe Dewey Cox was real. It’s funnier than Bohemian Rhapsody, more emotional than Ray, and somehow features more drugs than The Doors. Truly, the only music biopic that matters.
Megalopolis felt like less of a movie and more of a prolonged fever dream of where logic goes to die and self-indulgence reigns supreme. The only way to enjoy it is to suspend not just disbelief, but all hope for coherence, hope for compelling characters, and hope that Coppola’s supposed masterpiece ever justifies its own existence. Watching this felt like I was trapped in a philosophy major’s TED Talk, except with worse dialogue and even less of a point.
I'm sure I would have liked this had I not been constantly yelled at by a liberal the whole time.
