Parasite 2019
One of the few genuine masterpieces of the decade.
I admire any filmmaker/storyteller that can explore such levels of social commentary. Poverty, class, desperation, corrupt and failed capitalism in such a creative and entertaining way.

Top Gun: Maverick 2022
I went into the cinema expecting to love this film. But only for the nostalgia.
But good god was I wrong. Not only is the story impeccable and one of the few times where a sequel has not only been justified. But deserved.
From a technical standpoint this film is a masterpiece. Seeing the G-forces contort the actors faces. Combined with the most incredible sound experience of feeling like I had been punched in the chest by the sound and rumble of the afterburners.
This film not only met. Not only surpassed, but completely smashed expectations.
