  DDL’s portrayal of Lincoln is such a powerful, stirring, but quiet embodiment that really swept me off my feet this time.

  I actually think I found the first 2/3 of this kind of exhausting. Meandering and the modern style of breathy, stammering, start-stop improvised banter wore me down. 

  I enjoyed the final act though once the plot actually kicks into full gear. Leitch’s strengths are definitely in action and technical filmmaking, those are on full display here. 

  Gosling, Blunt and company are all having tons of fun which is quite infectious for us in the audience.
